Stopmoshun & I did a little shrine swap. She made the fabulous Anima Sola shrine for me (from a few posts back) and this is what I made for her.




The white blob in the second pic, on the left side is a little ceramic skull bead tied on with pink ribbon.

Great job amaryllis!  Are you using the dollhouse furniture mini cabinets for these (like 6" tall?)  I saw some at Michaels and wondered what I could do with it...Is this the same thing?

Indeed it is. And unfortunately, Michael's seems to have cleared them all out and stopped selling them.

I have a stash of 5 or 6 of them...but I know their disappearance has been mourned by several of them. Get them and keep them for yourself! They make perfect, compact little shrines.

The heart is made from a weird fluffy air dry "clay" called Delight. It feels like stale marshmallows when its dry. The barbed wire is "prop" wire I got last year at Halloween. The base is real wire, but the barbs are rubber, I think. The paint flakes off of it when you bend it, which is what the sparkly spots on the heart are.

For the IYP4/HOdown swap, I made a crow shrine for Phizzychick...I apologize for the poor photo quality, it's hard to decently capture something that's silver and black with a cheapo camera...

Dark and spooky by the light of my desk lamp:

I built it from scratch using some foamcore board, which I covered in Mod Podge, rice paper, and some thin black paint on the outside.  The inside is silver acylic, with a paper cutout, some shiny silver cardboard that came out of a package of nail polish, and lots of teeny tiny glass mirrors that were formerly part of a miniature disco ball that hit the floor and exploded.

The crow figurine is from an Eric Draven (The Crow) action figure set, and I made the little base he's standing on out of aluminum foil, polymer clay, salt (for texture), and acrylic paint.
