- Stifflersmom:  thank you! The base is actually a little jewelry box that I found at a craft store here in Germany, but I am sure that you have these kind of boxes over there too! I just turned it and added 2 wooden 'feet' in the part that was actually the back of the box, so that it can stand as a shrine  Cheesy  I will buy more on the weekend and take a pic of it as it is.

- Amaryllisroze: I am so happy that you can detect the crackle effect!  I was disappointed because it did not come out as strong as I wanted, but I am happy that you can see it a little!  Cheesy  And yes, the shrine is on the smallish side, about 4 x 4 inches when closed.

It's beautiful, CraftyZary! I love the colors together, and the size of it!

CraftyZary: Your shrine is amazing! I love when suitcases (in this case, a mini mini one) are used for the base...they make the art feel like it's a hidden treasure. and the crackly hot green is great!

amaryllisroze: Beautiful! Did the paper come "antiqued" like that or did you glaze it with something?

*I think I'm done with my shrine to the ridiculous! I'll post as soon as I can.

The paper is decoupage tissue that is about 4 inches square. It looks just like it does on the box, a brown map. I just decoupage it on with matte medium. Its pretty opaque.

I can look at what the brand is when I get home if you want. There are about 6 different packages that come with 4 different patterns in the pack. Each pack has a theme.

CraftyZary, your shrine is gorgeous, I love the simplicity of the outside.

Amaryllisroze, I love yours as well. I love all of the embellishments you used.

Nope, just unfancy paper I get at Michael's. Its in the same section as the paper mache book boxes and other paper mache stuff. Its a bit shiny on it own and I guess the matte medium isn't so matte on top of it. Its really not that shiny in reality.

Here is the kind of tissue I used for the box above - the only difference is the set I have is called "Old World" whereas the one pictured is "Woodland"...
