Been lurking on here for a while, and finally decided to contribute instead of schmoozing everyone elses ideas.

Both of these I just kind of whipped out.  I wanted ponchos, and gosh-darn-it I wanted them now!

This one is single crochet for the whole thing, done in a t-shirt yarn.

This one is double crochet in very fuzzy yarn:

Hey, those are great!  Smiley I'd be interested in a pattern for the first one as well, if you don't mind sharing.

Pink Poncho: Used size "J" hook.

Row 1: Make a chain (ch) the width you want the bottom of your poncho (muliple of 9, + 4 extra sc). Use a sc to connect the ch and creat a circle.
Row 2: *ch 9, skip next 8 chs and single crochet (sc) in the 9th ch* (repeat from * to the last 4 ch).
Row 3: skip the next 4 chs of Row 1, and 5 chs of Row 2.  sc in 5th ch. *skip next 9 chs and sc in 9th ch*.

Repeat rows 2 and 3 all the way up around the circle, and it will "spirle" up to the length you want.  I decressed to 7ch/ch skipped about half way up, and then 5 chs/5 chs skipped 2/3 the way up to narrow it as it got to the top. When the hole for the head was the circumfrance I wanted, I finished off, and chained a drawstring that I wove into the top row.

Close up of chains:

I can also wear it as a tube dress over my bikini, or a beach skirt!

Let me know if you want a tutorial for blue poncho.

Those are really cute!!  I'd like a pattern for the blue poncho also, if you're willing.   Cheesy

I'd love the pattern for the blue one! What kind of yarn did you use on the blue one? It's really pretty!

I love your ponchos so much. I really need to learn how to crochet! Did you teach yourself?

I also wanted to show you a pic of Jessica Simpson wearing something kinda similar to your blue-ish one, now I know that I can make something similar since you made such a beautiful one!!!

Okay, I tried to figure out a way to explain how to do the blue poncho, and decided to just take pictures of another one.  So, I will probably have pictures up tomorrow.  Thanks for all your sweet comments!
