Butterflies, Buttons, & Crochet--ah, life is good!

I loved this purse idea from the book. Not only is it different, but you can make it as unique as you are. Since I'm rather fond of butterflies, I made mine with that theme, using some butterfly shaped beads, as well as a large butterfly on the lid. I couldn't find any decorative nails I liked, so instead, I attached two flower buttons using the elastic cord. First, I had to bat my eyelashes at my husband to drill a couple of tiny holes in it for me. The ending result is a cute little butterfly purse. I can't wait to make another one and see what theme I use the next time!

So pretty! I love it! You're right that one of the neat things about this project is that you can decorate it any style you want. You can even stain or paint the popsicle sticks with anything meant for wood. So fun!

Hmmm, I bet you could make a great shrine for your beaded butterfly doll from popsicle sticks too.
