i received my thank you from listener15 today!

she sent me some fizzled marbles and some jewelry she made out of them:

aren't they cool?? i'm so excited to wear the jewelry and use the extras!  thank you for the thank you, listy! Smiley

I'm soooo glad you liked them! I thought I would give something new a shot to send you *grin*

cool! listener15-how did you make those?

Sorry I didn't respond earlier, I just got home from spending two weeks with my girlfriend (I want to go back right now dang it!).  They are actually REALLY easy to make.

First you get your marbles (the hardest part, took me three days to find marbles...don't kids play with them anymore? sheehs, of course I saw them everywhere after I finally found some) and put said marbles on a metal tray.  Preheat your oven to 500F and leave them in there for 45 mins to an hour (longer if you set it at a lower temp).  Get a bowl and make ice water.  I suggest a metal bowl, just in case you know.  Now you want super cold water.  I mean the kind where your hand in there a second you go brrrr, so lots of ice.  Pour your marbles right from the oven into the bowl. Leave them in there for a minute or two and haha! Fried marbles. *grins*  My mom told me of this, she used to do this a lot when she was a little kid and make necklaces out of them.

craft_t_chic got her thank you package (after it spent a good couple weeks traipsing around Ohio  Wink ), so I figured I'd post the pictures I actually remembered to take before sending it off.

She had the Knitty Nagano Sakura (http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/PATTsakura.html) wisted, so I made that (if anyone wants my yarn subs, etc, let me know).

...and modeled quite stoicly by yours truly

Well, if blogger lets my post go through (after I stupidly didn't copy what I wrote before hitting publish) there should be a description on my blog (url in sig).
Real quick: for the flowers, I doubled a bunch of embroidery floss I had around on size 3 needles.  The branch-y part is Paton's wool in Taupe, also double stranded, on a size 11 circ.
I would recommend using dpns for it if you have 'em, b/c then you can do each i-cord on a different needle and knit across, as opposed to putting them aside and making sure the cats don't know where the cat-toy sized dangly things are Smiley

It was an adventure trying it on and taking the pictures with them around!

(and in answer to the color question, the brown is a bit lighter in real life)
