So, my hubby crocheted this for me a couple of years ago while we were dating.  And I thought it was really sweet of him since it took him forever.  Believe it or not it was my hubby who taught me how to crochet.  Well, he taught me how to chain, single and double crochet.  Home Ec was mandatory in his school.

I absolutely love it!! Especially when people come over and say "Oh, did you make this?" and I'm like "No, my hubby did."  He's so talented.  The main color is
navy blue not black.  Is that a nice color scheme or what, I think I'm just really in love.

Anywho, here is the masterpiece.

wow, that really is great.  a man with color sense who isn't so worried about being macho that he can't make nice things for the home?  you seriously lucked out in finding him!
i always thought it would be a good idea if schools made both home ec and a basic shop class mandatory.  then, not only would everyone have the basic skills required to be a grown-up person, but it would help to break down the traditional gender roles that tell kids it's unmanly to know how to mend a shirt, or unfeminine to be able to fix a broken chair leg.

Hope I'm as lucky as you to marry a guy who can crochet. ^_^

That's awesome-it looks so great. I tried teaching my husband how to knit, but he isn't very coordinated, lol, and I was afraid he would poke an eye out.
What a great afghan!

i've taught all my previous boyfriends to knit and crochet.  not many of them got beyond scarves or ever will i'm sure, but i think it's a valuable skill for everyone to have.  i'm so impressed that he taught you!

I know, he's so talented. I was very surprised when I found out that he could crochet.  It looked like a lot of fun so he showed me how.  But then I just went crazy with it. I'm wondering if he starting to regret teaching me cause I've been buying a lot of yarn these days. Hee Hee. Cheesy
