hey, i'm new here...  i hope this posting is okay.

any way, i about to put up a website that features local independent designers, artists and musicians in the bay area with some of my friends.  we are a co-op.  we're going to do events such as art shows also in sf.  we are having trouble getting submissions from outside our circle.  this is a problem because our main focus is to bring the urban sub-cultures more closely knit together.  anybody got any brilliant ideas as to how to get the word out diy style?  i don't know how this works yet, so i will leave my email....fullmoonfurthur@yahoo.com

much love...........king baby

Hey king baby-
I don't know how much this will help but I thought I'd try.
Have you tried going to places where crafty kids hang out? I thought maybe you could go to like The New School or any of the stores around there. A lot of crafty kids are lurking around those parts. Maybe even make some fliers & drop them off at stores that sell handmade items. I don't know if owners would be to happy about it but it's worth a try, right? Or sometimes galleries & restaraunts that have art displayed will have business cards for the artists. You could collect those & contact them. I know they can be scary, but some of the bike messengers are crafty (if you need an "in" with them, I have one). Also it might not hurt to re-post this here in the Crafty Business Ventures forum. I hope I helped & good luck!
