hi,  My family and I are going to Japan this summer.  I'm thinking about making some sort of paper craft to give as gifts while in Japan.  Any ideas?  I have lots of paper, including marbled paper.  I'm thinking of little books, some sort of ornament, maybe a bookmark.  I've thought about including a photo of something local, like a waterfall that's about 5 miles from my home.

I"ll probably make up several of whatever I come up with, so it needs to be something fairly easy, but looks nice.

Thanks.  Cynthia

I think it is a good idea.  I think especially in japan a little gift can be important. I think all of your ideas are good ones- I'm sure you'll come up with something nice---maybe you could even make some to keep you busy on the plane.  I think including something local for you is or personal is best..   My BF chaperones a student trip to vietnam and the students all make mix cds to give to students there. People seem pretty happy to get those- I mean, even if you hate the music you get to know a bit more about someone that way. You could do that and make cool handmade envelopes for them.

thanks for the cd idea.  My 16 yo will like that idea.  The homemade envelopes really has some potential.  Things to do on the plane ... that's wonderful!  thanks.  catdaddytn
