My friend wants me to make her a little knitted bonnet.  But, I can only find baby patterns.  Any ideas for adult bonnets?

there is a cute pattern is SNB Nation
(it is furry - but you could knit it up w/o the fun fur)

http://www.uvm.edu/~hag/godey/images/picsfashion.html has several nice patterns down at the bottom of the page for several bonnets/opera hoods, all from the Godey's Lady's Book (Victorian patterns).  I haven't tried the hoods, but I knit the mitten/wristlets for my Antebellum American Culture class as part of my final project. It takes some careful reading (they assume a lot Wink ), but the patterns do seem to be pretty complete.

you could also just use a baby pattern in a larger gauge. Babies heads aren't actually that much smaller than adults so with a bit of swatching it would probably work out well.
