Sorry for the double post, but I just saw the beautiful pincushions from catchstars and hoxierice!  The both made my breath catch when they scrolled up.  All the pin cushions just keep getting more beautiful and more creative!  What a great gallery of crafts!

I agree. Everything here so far has been so amazing.

I'm beginning to feel like crap because I sent something not so amazing.  Embarrassed Maybe I'll make and send another.

Don't be silly- I'm sure I'll LOVE it!

Don't worry.  It will all come to a screeching halt when Qazi receives mine!  I wish i had sent it sooner.  I get the bad feeling I'm going to be the one who will be holding up the works, here. Undecided
catchstars, What a great conceptualization!!!  I love how you combined her two interests!  It's just fantastic!

Because Poe wrote on both of them.

Anyone up for a Jasper Fforde swap?

I am going to be the person who brings this gallery down. Everything so far has been AMAZING. And what I made is nowhere up to par with everyone else's.

This is going to be like getting the lowest grade in the class, and everyone knows because the teacher marked it with a giant red F.

Besides being dramatic…everyone has come up with amazing stuff. Such detail, such beauty!

Oh Shuffar- I'm sure that's not the case!

Look at what the lovely cybilverbeana made for me:

The big one is a gorgeous-furry-beaded-handstitched cake! It's a crummy day out and I can't get a nice shot of it... trust me it's even nicer than the picture.
The smaller one is a tiny metal tray with a red brocade cushion nestled in it. It's trimmed with red chenille rick-rack that I sent in her package  Wink and it has a magnet for resting a needle on....I can definitely use this!
Aren't they great?!
Thanks a bunch Cybilverbeana!

Every pincushion has been special and unique and partners are pleased!! What more can you ask for in life? (well, winning the lottery this weekend...)

cybilverbeana--yours are very very nice!!  I am loving the idea of using small items and putting a pincushion in them!!  And, I <3 beadwork!

This will probably sound stupid, but what did everyone use for the "stuffing" of their cushion? And what would you use to make the "shaarpening" part?

I stuffed mine in wool.  But when I ask around for emery powder or emery sand I get looked at like I'm purple with wings and eyestalks (The Thing From Planet Purple kind of aliens) so my notion of doing a mini fat bird filled with emery went by the wayside....

I don't know how many people put a "sharpening" part on their pincushions. (I just recently learned that emery is what is in those things) But I do know that you can use hair to stuff you pincushion, which is also good for sharpening...at least that is what I was told.

I also went without emery sand after a brief search. I figure that pins and needles are cheap enough to replace and in my craft room they tend to break/bend/get lost before dulling  Undecided
