I found this pattern (& there are a couple more) on Lion Brand's website and couldn't help but bring my new friend to SnB last night. http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/ki-dollPoncho.html



You can print out the little yarn skein labels and 'idea book', the needles I made out of plastic q-tips (they recommend using japanese toothpicks). My 3yo daughter thinks it's awesome and wants more knit clothes for Barbie. There are a couple other patterns available in the 'Chicks with Sticks' line so we'll see.

I made this same pattern for my 3 year old and she too loved it! If you want to make more Barbie knits I recommend Knits for Barbie by Nicky Epstien. You can get it at the library and the patterns are awesome. Anyway great job!

Me! That scarf reminds me of a Barbie "scarf" (I don't think the word poncho was in my vocabulary yet) I knit many many years ago, only your Barbie's is so much prettier than my Barbie's. What yarn did you use? I love the colourway.

It's very cute. Love it. I must not let my youngest daughter see the picture. She will have me knitting her Barbie clothes all of the time, otherwise. EEEEK!

I used Berroco Fresco - mostly because I had one skein from a stash swap my SnB had done and when I went to look for patterns I found out it had been discontinued. I'm not sure of the name of the colorway, it wasn't given to me with a label. It has about the same gauge as the recommended Lion Brand Incredible.
