Well, I spent the weekend making things to try to keep my mind off of the fact that Monday (yesterday), we would have to put our dog to sleep. Combine that with the fact that I forgot about something I was supposed to mail out last month. So, I fiddled a little bit, and decided to make this altered case for CDs.

First, I took the cardboard case from a Ubuntu Linux cd thing, and covered it with wrapping paper. I decorated the inside so that none of the original case was showing. Then I added 2 CDs for a friend (one is PDF files, dover samples, craft things, paper dolls, etc. and the other is music). This is what it looks like Cheesy

I have a second that I have made, using blue foil wrap, wire ribbon, etc. I don't have pics yet, as I have yet to figure out what to put in it (deff. one CD for Mom's day, thinking about gift certificates for the other side).

Thanks for looking!

I'm really sorry about your dog. Pets become huge parts of our lives and such special family members.

You did a great job on the CD case though, you've got a really lucky friend.

Thank you Smiley It certainly was difficult to let go of our dog, but we both feel that he is in a much better place now, and is no longer suffering Smiley

Thanks about the case! I am quite happy with it, and am making others (first trys usually are just a test phase, lol...but they are starting to look good Wink ). The most difficult part is the interior - the curved part where the CDs stick into. I am thinking of just covering it flat, so there are no curves - would make things much easier Wink

Here is a second case that I altered. I like the look better, although it could still use some work. It's going to hold a gift CD of crafty things for a school, as well as a craft-a-long CD of music Smiley

That's lovely and a really good idea.  Mind if I steal it?
