I've only been crochet'ing for 2 weeks, so please be gentle with your comments.  I came up with a ruffly cuff I made on the way home yesterday.

Since I made two I wrote the pattern down and here it is:

Peaches and Cream Solid
Hook size G, 4.25mm

Chain 10, double crochet for 12 rows, single crochet along long edge, (like this: 3 single crochet in a long loop, 1 in small, repeat),
Chain 1, single crochet along short edge,
Chain 1, turn single crochet along short edge,
Chain 1, single crochet along long edge, 1, 2, 1, 2 to the end of long edge,
Chain 1, single crochet along short edge,
Chain 1, turn, single crochet along short,
Chain 1, single crochet along long edge,
Chain 1, single crochet along short edge,
Chain 1, single crochet along short edge,
Chain 4, double crochet along long edge, chain 1, single crochet along short edge,
Chain 25, finished knot last loop, work ending strings into cuff.

Great job!  I'm continually impressed by Craftsters' new crocheters who come up with such interesting and relatively complex designs right off the bat: I don't think I did anything more than straight rows for several months after I first started hooking....

I knitted for years and years, this crochet thing is so freeform.  I am amazed and what you can do with that little hook - and there's only one of them!!!
