hi! here are a couple of new pieces. The backgrounds are made of little bits and pieces of scrap paper, all glued together on a sheet of plastic covered plywood, which was peeled away from the plastic when it was dry. Then the resulting sheet of paper was embroidered, beaded, sequinned, ans tricked out with all the little bits of stuff i obsessively collect. What do you think?

I love it!
The colors work very well together and the piece has such a nice feeling about it (hope my English makes sense).

I think it's very nice - really love the texture and colors you used - are you going to mount this? It would look so nice on a black or dark background. Thanks for posting!

thanks for kind feedback- the pieces are actually already mounted on plywood. I know it's hard to tell from pic, but they are fairly large, like 18-20 inches high or so. next will be framing,i think i will float the picture over a contrasting background. wish my camera were better so you could see the embroidery stitches better...

Wow bet they look great in person - they look good here  Grin
Really like the idea of floating the pcs over your background.

This looks super - I have done a similar thing with tiny fabric scraps ironed onto an adhesive backing - Vilene, Staflex, whatever - and then machine and hand emboidered.  Great way to use up bright little bits which I didn't want to throw away!
