ah sorry i like dissapeared off the internet for a while!
the shirt was very easy to make though if anyone is still interested in that.

basically what i did was get the reddish colored fabric, folded it in half and cut it in a shape kind of like


then i laid it on top of the shirt (which i also folded in half) and cut a piece out of the same shape

and then replaced it with the reddish colored part

only my red part was kind of bigger than the shirt so i did the ruffly/pleating thing

My first thought was, "There's no way anyone can make anything cute out of that ugly thing.  How horrid.  Ugliest fabric ever."  Boy,was I wrong.
