I thought Id just put in a few gems...

A to Z of Embroidery stitches
Brilliant. Lots and lots of different stitches all wonderfully explained with photos for every step. The stitch for every project is there.

Stumpwork Dragonflies by Jane Nicholas
The most stunning 3D embroidery insects youve ever seen. Also any other stumpwork book by her is great.

New Ideas in Goldwork by Tracy Franklin
Goldwork is a technique using gold or metal covered threads. Expensive threads but fantastic and you can substitute a lot with modern cheaper threads. Covers all the couching techniques and has a great section on goldwork as a modern art form and how different fiber artists got their ideas and worked them.

Hi all!

I am looking for any advice on where to buy fabric.  My local Michaels store has almost nothing to offer in colored fabrics so I cam looking for a recommendation for a good internet store to buy from.

My Friend recently bought some Linen - Aida - 14ct - Antique White fabric from preg_replace('/(.{19})/', '$1 ', 'www.juliesxstitch.com') and paid $15 for a Fat Quarter.  I wasn't sure if that was a good price but I can't find a better place or price.

If anyone has a suggestion let me know.

Thanks a bunch!!

Carey K.

there's always:

http://fabric.com

My personal favourite: http://craftconn.com

http://virginiaquilter.com

http://bearpawquilting.com

And I've probably got a ton more links, but those are the ones I know by heart

I don't want to break any forum rules, but I'm surprised by how many needlecrafters don't know about Q-Snap Needlework Frames.  I did a craftster search and didn't find a thing!  Shocked

We are checking about advertising on this site, it's great!

I have a small Q-Snap that I got for hand quilting.  I haven't thought to get it out for my larger embroidery work. It is so easy to use- thanks for the reminder and it will get used now! (since I haven't done any hand quilting in a long time)

Here's a link to a thread on Q-snaps from back in the summer.
