Wow, I had a really great time meeting everyone, and look forward to seeing you again.  I encourage those who missed it to join in on the fun.

Any thoughts on starting up a Church of Craft in Minneapolis?
http://www.churchofcraft.org/church/startachapter.html
That might be a place we can have a calendar.  Yahoo group is good if we want to keep some of our info from being published to the whole WWW.

As far as next meeting, I probably won't be able to make it, I'll be on vacation June 21 through July 10.  But if we nail down a regular meeting time, I can probably demo some jewelry stuff in August.

Is there a Minneapolis Craft Mafia yet? Even if there is, we could be like the sharks and the Jets. Cheesy

That church thing is very strange! Can we make religious holidays so we don't have to go to work? Such as 'The Holy Feast of Joann's Coupons'?

Wow, great pictures.....it's taken me 2 days to even get it together for a "Thank You" for such a fun time! I would love to do something each month, though I'm not long on ideas for activities. It's not the most crafty of ideas but many of the Jawaahir teachers do guild performances and /or belly dance sets in Middle Eastern restaurants around here....it might be fun to get dinner and see a show. Not all of them make their costumes personally but belly dance costumes are a marvel of beadwork armor and fancy fabric- maybe interesting in a crafty way? I still think it's cool we could get such a big group together at all!

As for a name,??? I'll have to think about it! I am still trying to mentally process yesterday's clothing swap!

When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way, from your first cigarette to your last dying day  Grin

That said, I love the idea of being made in the craft mafia

Hahaha!   Cheesy

Another maybe fun thing would be a little field trip to the Textile Center
http://www.textilecentermn.org/
They have gallery displays and exhibits, and a library dedicated to textile arts.

I soooooooooooooo want to go to the textile center. I've been visiting their website for awhile now, wishing I could find the time...Batgirl says it's cool.

Plus, I think they have spinning wheels I'd like to try out.

There is a link to Minneapolis on the Craft Mafia website.  It takes you to a yahoo group that was just started about 2 weeks ago and only has 2 members.  Would it be poor form to take over their yahoo group?  It certainly would make our life easier to just use the structure they have already set up.
