Drag it out of the trash... and make it beautiful

I started reconstructing things about a year ago.  I started taking pictures of my reconstructions...  um...  not very long ago.  Because I am a slacker.  Anyway, here are a few of my favorite things

Braiding...

and halters...

and spongebob...

and ribbon!

I have yet to do anything with raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, but when I do, you'll probably be the first to know.

Awesome job, I really love the Spongebob shirt. Especially the back!
I'm curious as to how you did the sides of the first one.

Thanks!  The braided one wasn't particularly difficult, just time-consuming.  I sewed the shoulders in to hold the shirt together, cut up the sides, cut the sides into strips, stretched them out a bit, and just sort of french-braided my way down.  The most important thing is to not attempt the braiding while the shirt is a pile of fabric on your lap, because you won't be able to figure out which bit of fringe goes where.  I put the shirt on the mannequin for braiding, but you can also slide a book into it to hold it flat and keep the fringe spread out a bit.  If that doesn't make sense, I can try to do a little paint picture of what it's supposed to look like.
