I've kinda been using this a my destressing project, I'm on row 11 of my first square. I started it  because i was so frustrated with my first dpn project...i needed a break

I love this pattern and i plan on using it to make a baby blanket for one of my cousins...i have almost 7 mos so plenty of time to pick up and stop whenever i want Roll Eyes

oooh i've been eyeing this afghan forever...i was thinking of making it for my stepmom who is pregnant (how weird that feels....i'm 26.....)

i think i'll join this KAL Smiley  i have quite a bit of yarn and nothing to do with it hehe Smiley

are you going to be using all different colors?  i was thinking it would look neat in just a monochromatic set....like dark, medium, light blue and white?  hmmm i dunno.  i'll have to think on it a little bit more Wink

Well i just seen a post that had a blanket that used the same color for the inside stripes but different colors for each square...so when put together the inside stripes matched but the bulk of the squares were different...i might play along with that.
I'm going to try to make it child themed...but i'm much more into bright colors than pastel blah ones...we'll see where i go with my creation.  The fun part about this pattern is you can use any color or you can actually plan them out...oh i wanted to put this site up here...it was just shared with me, and it may help with cutting down on the awful finishing that this blanket requires.

i have been working on this piecemeal.
usually between projects, ill knit a square or two to finish up some odd balls of yarn.
so while i dont see myself finishing anytime soon, ill post what i have done and just say that its a pretty fun pattern.

I'm thinking of doing this too. It looks like something that can really add up to a fun project.

Maybe donate it to a local hospital or homeless shelter?  I'm sure they would appreciate it.   Grin

Might do this project.... it would make a good stash busting thing.  XD

i completely hear you on planning it out.

maybe im just a little obsessive, but i want it all to be in the same type of yarn, but different colors.

so someday, ill have a giant brown sheep worsted patchwork blanket

I just started this last night!  I came on craftster to do a search of finished pics of the afghan and ran into this KAL.

I finished my first square last night and am doing the stocking st. version in monochrome earth tones (cream and beige so far, but will be adding dark brown and a burnt red color).  My reason for doing it is to celebrate my boyfriend and I moving in together; a first for both of us.  We just moved into a new apartment and it is in need of some personalized decorations.  Although he isn't a knitter (yet!!) he helped pick out the yarn and the pattern.

This was planned to be a long-term project, but maybe the KAL can keep me moving. Smiley
