We've got one started!

We meet the second Saturday of every month, at Whole Foods, upstairs in the cafe' seating.  (You'll know who we are.  We're the weirdos with the glue guns.) Smiley

If you need any more info, or just want to ask questions, drop me a note. Smiley

VENUE CHANGE:

We'll be at the Starbuck's up on 147th and Maple instead of Aroma's tomorrow, June 10th,  due to the Taste of Omaha down in the old market. The parking tonight was HORRENDOUS, and rather than lose people due to the lack o' parking or making them pay for it -- we're moving north and west to 147th and Maple.

The Starbucks is on the southwest side of the intersection, across the street from Lowe's and Michael's.

They know we're coming, so it won't be a giant Crafty Invasion. Smiley

Call or message me if you need directions -- though, the easiest way to get there is just to take the Maple exit off the 680 and go for several miles to 147th, turn left, and then turn right in the Starbuck's driveway.

Just a little note to remind anyone who's interested that THIS SATURDAY is the CoC meeting! Smiley

It's back at Aroma's, down at 10th & Jackson, two blocks south of the Old Spaghetti Works.  Parking should be back to normal Saturday traffic now that all the festivals are over. Smiley

Hope to see you there!  Message me if you have any questions. Smiley

Hey, sorry for the last-minute response here, but we've changed the venue today because of a condo tour or somesuch going on in the old market area.  (Parking is nonexistent right now downtown, apparently.)

We're at the cafe at Borders on 72nd and Dodge.

Just bring something to work on and your crafty self!

So next Saturday then?  I am very excited at the prospect of uninterrupted crocheting and a big fat mocha breve.

TOMORROW!

Monthly Omaha Church of Craft Craft-On
at Borders' Book Cafe
72nd & Dodge
1p.m. to 3 p.m. (or however late we invade...they're open until midnight. :>)

I should be there at or slightly after one. If you need directions or anything, give me a call, or drop me a note.

Smiley

I'm bringing needlefelting, I think. And we'll be planning some Sunday Schools for 2007. AND discussing a potential alternative craft fair, if enough people are there. Smiley

DECEMBER NOTICE!!

Omaha's usual Church of Craft meeting on the second Saturday of every month is going to be CANCELLED this month.

We were just at Borders and judging from the number of holiday shoppers just -tonight-, there's going to be no room for us and our sprawling craftiliciousness tomorrow, for sure.

Stay tuned for a post-holiday craft exchange party to be held instead in January.

Smiley

Call me if you have questions!

So Saturday's our first CraftOn for 2007!

Anybody want to do a "Yay! We Survived The Holidays!" party?

Meeting info:

1pm - 3 pm
Borders Cafe
72nd and Dodge

Bring something to work on, and if you don't have anything to work on (craft burnout) bring a notebook, because you're sure to be Inspired when you leave. Smiley

I'd like to talk this month about a) doing an alternative craft fair and b) the prospect of doing mini-class-type Sunday Schools at my house, focusing on a particular object or technique to play with and learn.  Something out of the box for you, to help with that whole inspiration thing. Smiley

Call if you need directions or info:
402-670-8624, ask for Sister Eliza

We ended up getting snowed out in January, but we met in February at Whole Foods, where we'll probably end up meeting from now on.  Attendance was light, mostly because of the threat of More Weather.  (Why it decides to snow every second Saturday, I don't know. :>)

We'll be meeting again in March, and there will be Much Discussing Of The Potential Show, depending on how many are in attendance, and whether or not we are pelted with more snow. Smiley

Hope to see you there! Smiley

I have worked EIGHT weekends in a row.  And I will probably be working every weekend in May.  I am thoroughly determined to enjoy every weekend in April.

I just now found this thread... Shocked  Do you still meet on second Saturdays?  How about location?  I live in Council Bluffs, and will soon be moving to David City, NE, but still would be interested in possibly joining.

Well, I don't know if other people have been meeting, because I always work on Saturdays.  Is anyone interested in having an additional day?  Perhaps a different a day other then Saturday, on the fourth week of the month?  (or any week.  just suggesting it so they are more spaced out.)

I really don't want to replace the Saturday meetings, I'm just trying to offer an alternative for those that can't make it to Saturdays or perhaps don't want to wait a month til there next fix.  Cheesy

I found this doing a Google search and then happened upon this thread here as well.

from SlamOmaha.com
Church of Craft - Omaha Chapter
Meets the 2nd Saturday of every month at Aroma's on 10th & Jones
churchofcraft.org

I hope this info is still accurate  Huh
Based on the other posts I am assuming 1-3pm is the time.  I am pretty sure I can be there.  Weekends are always best to drive into Omaha since I live in the sticks.

Can't wait to meet some other crafters.   Cheesy

Hey girls --

We actually haven't been meeting for the summer -- it's been so flippin' hot and had such strange weather that we've been just skipping it.

I'm planning on re-introducing it on Saturdays starting in October (just in time for the crazy-@ssed winter weather, I know...), with a once a month Sunday School.

It's been moved over to the Wild Oats at 70somethingth and Dodge, upstairs in the seating area, too.  (Aroma's had really bad parking on Saturdays.)

I'll let everybody know when e've got something finalized. Smiley
