I'm wondering if anyone could give me brief descriptions of Barbara Walker's stitch dictionaries.  Specifically, I'm looking for lace motifs (pictures made of lace), but I'd appreciate knowing the strengths of each Treasury.  For example, a knitter once told me that the Third Treasury (I think) was *the* source for slip stitch patterns.  Thanks in advance.

My local library has a pretty good knitting selection, so I've actually been through all 4 volumes.  The first two volumes especially focus on working texture into your knitting and do some wonderful things with yo's and cables, as well as more simple knit and purl variations.  All the directions are in text.  Volume 3 is when she discovered charts, and includes more texture patterns as well as some slip-stich patterns working in two colors (mosaic knitting.)  Volume 4 is all mosaic knitting.

They're way out of my price range, but I see these come up on Ebay from time to time - good luck!
