My son took the green and white one to school for a teacher gift.  His teacher loves John Deere.  With the yellow and green flower he said it was a John Deere purse.

I think they are gorgeous!  Where they hard to line?  What did you use for the handles on the second purse?

Hi
No they weren't hard to line.  I just put the finished bag on the fabric and cut around it.  Sewed up the edges.  Put in a snap. *now the crappy part*  sewed in the lining by hand.  I hate doing that but it's not hard.  The handles on the green purse were some 6 or 7" macrame rings from hobby lobby.  They were  $0.62.  Kind of skinny but I liked them.  Thanks for the nice compliment.

Your bags are gorgeous.  I am almost done with my first one but have run into trouble....care to help me?  I just can't figure out the handle flaps.  I'm doing to green bag---as the pattern says I end the body (row 52) with 17 sts.  Then start the handle flaps--row 1 has 26 sts...waa?  I don't mathematically understand it.  Maybe what I don't get is "working across row end sts" -- am I crocheting in the wrong place?

This is my third project (from the book and ever) and would truly appreciate any advice you can give me.

Thanks!

Your bags are awesome, and the linings are amazing! I wish I could sew like you.
