My aunt commissioned two bags from me (one for each of my cousins) out of some fabric that she had bought for my uncle's Halloween costume (which he ultimately declined).  For my 7-year-old cousin, she wanted an overnight bag:

It's based on an Italian square purse I saw on MSN. The front pocket is subdivided to hold shoes, and the edges are trimmed with a thinly-knitted ribbon of fun-fur yarn.

Aerial shot. This shows a little more of the squareness, as well as the awesome clearance Halloween lining. ^_^ The square design didn't work out very well when actually worn, however, so I put velcro on the corners. Now it folds up like a a coin purse, only on a much larger scale.

Bottom view of the square construction.

For my 9-year-old cousin, my aunt just wanted a little purse made out of the leftover fabric:

I designed it after two clutches I like at a store I like - one has kind of a "seashell" shape and the other has a bangle bracelet handle, so I combined them!

Purse interior, lined in my cousin's favorite color.

Thanks for looking!
