I got this amazing dress from a friend of mine at a clothing swap we had. I loved the fabric, but alas, the dress was too big for me in the bust area (oddly enough that applies to a lot of clothes). So after a few weeks of just staring at it trying to figure out what to do I decided that it would work as a skirt. I wanted to retain as much of the fabric as possible and this seemed to be the best way to do that.

So here is a shot of the full skirt.

And a detail one of the fabric which I obsess over every time I look at it.

And the waist band which I did by using about an inch and a half roll over to get the right level. I only wanted a certain amount of the green patterned part showing when I was done. And then used 3/4 inch no roll elastic just threaded though and sewn at the ends when I got it to around the right size.

And ignore the fact that I'm lazy and copied some of the text directly off my blog. Really . . . I'm supposed to be studying right now, not being an internet dork, but I can't help it!

Unfortunately I don't have a before picture. Though I could pin the straps on and that would give a rough idea. Hmm . . . .

Okay, ignore the fact that I Just got in from school and look grumpy.

This is a rough approximation of what it looked like. Though there was about 1 and 1/2 inches more of the green part and it was not snug like it is now (at all, it was rather breezy in the bad way)
