I fell in love with this $2.00 material in the bargain bin at Wal Mart.  It was really cool.  The angel faces are a beautiful shade of red in the right light.  They are kind of reflective.  The bottom is finished with a red fringe.  My oldest dd loves her skirt and wore it to church frequently last fall & winter.

Thanks.  Thats what I was thinking, too... the hemliine looked boring without something.  And the fringe kinda swishes and sways when she moves--she likes that  Smiley

We live pretty close to Mexico--so that was the look on the walls I was going for ("terra cotta")  I sponge painted them myself.
Thanks for your nice compliments

I did use a pattern.  It was incredibly simple--just 3 pieces, if I remember correctly.  2 back pieces and 1 front.  It is Butterick #3218 & it has a slit in the back for ease in walking.

Actually, I think those faces are Venus (rather than an angel) from one of my favorite paintings, Botticelli's Birth of Venus

Cool skirt!

Thanks, Melidomi, for fixing my pic so it shows up automatically.  How did you do that?
And I think you are right about Venus.... (thanks for the cool link) they were just so lovely, I assumed they were angels.
And thank all of you for your kind compliments.
PS:  With 3 kids and two indoor Saint Bernards, it isn't always that clean-lol Grin

I was lucky enough to visit the Uffizzi museum in Florence where that painting and several other Botticelli's are.  They were just soooo beautiful and luminous.  But I think my favorite thing was noticing that he used the same models over and over.  Venus there also appears as the Virgin Mary, and maybe as one of the 3 graces.  I think he liked her Smiley

For your pictures, the stuff you use here isn't exactly html, but it's similar.  the tags are all in square brackets like this [] you put a tag before your thing, and a tag with a / before the word, inside the square brackets after your thing.  So for img the tags are and (but without the spaces, I put them in so that they would show up)
