YEEEAAH! i'm soo glad the package arrived - things always take so long from here - but even still i was starting to get nervous it went elsewhere

hope you enjoy the stuff Nessa (really not that much in there considering it was too thick - heehee!) i totally had fun knitting up the sweater and was really excited to find the buttons ( sure hope you aren't vegan - totally understand if you remove them!)

oooh i was using my knitting tote last night and got loads of complements - totally a great size i had a hardcover knitting book, big skien of wool, needles, and my wallet with loads of room to spare - love it!

mary (knit north)
ps living w/o water is totally alright, some things like washing up dishes just take a little longer - and yeah i live there in the winter - in fact there are pics on my blog from when it froze up at 40 below

Well, I have been 'eyeing up' all the fabulous swap goodness, patiently waiting for my package and today it finally arrived! YAY! Grin Post marked May 16th  Huh the next swap definitely has to be about a way to speed up Canada Post. Anyway, my package has a beautiful beaded bracelet, earrings (that my daughter hijacked immediately Cheesy), a CBC pin and a absolutely fabulous mobile that for the life of me I can not figure out how to hang  Huh
Thank you so much, it is a lovely package. I will try to get photos posted. Thanx again Yamwam. d Smiley

Finally it arrived, and finally my Internet is working! I'll post a picture of my own mobile to show you, don't worry. I hope you like the colours!

Photos of the 1st draft of the mobile. Didn't come out exactly as I wanted so I kept it and made a better one, but the principle is the same:

Arm and closet belong to my roommate. Here we see one side of the mobile, but of course if you hang it up infinite views are possible. It's a single unit created using a compass and an Xacto knife. d said she liked black and red so I tried to accomodate that (the other side is red cardstock).

From below it looks something like this:

Different one, obviously.

I pre-folded it before I sent, so just try to fold each inner circle in the direction it came in. Do not fold the outermost ring, it's holding all the structure. It's best if you can sort of get each ring at a 90 degree angle to the previous one.

And in a second I'm going to post pictures of the rest of what d sent me--as if I wasn't spoiled enough with the first part of my loot, there was more hidden inside a pouch. Thanks, man!

Here's the rest of what I received from d:

Clockwise from top left: a beaded butterfly, a yarn smiley face magnet, puzzle piece earrings (cool!), and a beer cap keychain. Thank you, d! Your extra present is going in the mail tomorrow. I didn't make it, but I think you'll like it. I've never met anyone who didn't.

And I forgot to take pictures of what I sent you, so if you can post any that would be great!

It is so cool, I didn't notice the fold lines before. Now that I see how it supposed to look, it was easy to 'hang'. I love it. thank you again. d

Please don't send me anything else. I loved your package. I have so much stuff, literally. I always throw in extras. I think if the recipient doesn't want it, it will get passed on to someone who does. As for photos, I got this fancy camera for Mother's day and haven't quite figured it out. I did take pictures, have them on my computer but am having no luck getting them posted. I have read through the "How to' several times. I think it may be like the mobile, once you do get it, it's all good. I will keep trying. d Smiley

So I was at the post office, waiting in line like a good Canadian, when I spotted something odd for sale amongst the various boxes and packaging paraphernalia--something so odd I did a double take. It was that plastic slot mock-up the workers use to show you why you're going to have to pay 5$ more than you expected. They sell those plastic thingies apparently, at 9.99$ a pop. It has all this shipping info printed on it as well. For a terrifying moment I nearly considered buying one. I blame it on the heat. Gives you crazy notions.

Too late! Don't worry, it's edible: New York Cheesecake Caramels from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Warning: may have come into contact with nuts. Hope you're not allergic!

YAY...so I finally got my act together and took the photos and resized them on my computer...I'm so lazy that way. Here is the wonderful stuff I got from Knit North...

first...the awesome packaging...the stuff was in a ziploc bag and then squished between two pieces of cardboard and then HEAVILY taped with packing tape...It took me about ten minutes to open it, with a little fit involved (a good excited fit!! Grin)...

Now...drum roll please...the goodies...

I got some lovely fabric and antler button (no I"m not vegan), a cool pic that Knit North took, a cool postcard of a cabin like the one Mary lives in...a baby sweater for my upcoming chick in my belly ...they'll love it !

And because the pic doesn't do the cartigan justice, I had to go outside to show you the true colours...its beautiful....I was so excited that I ended up going and showing both my neighbours too...they loved it.

Thank you so much Mary...I loved the stuff...one of the best swap gifts ever!!!
