I'm planning to make a quilt for our bedroom with purple and yellow/gold fabric (I've been collecting it through Craftster swaps) and I had a pattern in mind but now I'm not sure.

So, I'm looking for a quilt block pattern that only use 2 colors and isn't paper pieced.  I know I can find lots on the net but I'd really like someone to recommend one they've tried and liked  Smiley

TIA

I liked storm at sea and snail tail... I've done them both in green and white and blue and cream.  Puss 'n the corner is  pieced with squares and looks good in several variations.

You could do the Shoo Fly block.  Its really really easy and looks nice.  http://www.quilt.com/Blocks/ShooFly/ShooFlyDirections.html

Storm at sea is very nice - it certainly fits my 2 color request but it uses 3 different materials (2 of one color and 1 of another) and I'm hoping to just use 2 fabrics per square.

I like this square too!

Thanks for the suggestions  Grin

Burgoyne Surrounded is one of my favourite two colour patterns. It's also easy to strip-piece which makes it faster to make.
