I finished the left side glove portion- I need to work on the mitten flap now (it's taken about 8 hours and my hands don't appreciate the knit-a-thon, I get on a project and get hellbent on seeing a finished product).

My only issue is even with the stitch adjustments so far, is the hand part is a bit baggy for my hand still- after putting the flap on, if i have room, I might take some pink ribbon to lace through it and cinch it corset style on the back and then sew the bow into it so it doesn't get untied- it's just a matter of finding a type of ribbon that won't fray... I guess I could always do some teeny i-cord and work it that way.  Undecided

Tried to get photos last night- friends batteries were almost dead and every time you hit the 'capture' button, it turned off.  I'm cursed when it comes to photos!

Aw! I'm fortunate that when my battery won't cooperate, I can plug the charger directly into the camera & take pics (with some chargers, you need to remove the batteries to charge them).

Sounds like for your 2nd glove, you don't want to inc as much.

Left side done, I can see errors galore in it but I'm happy with how it came out as my first glove/mitten project in one Smiley

I've hit a wall with the right hand glove.  The pattern has no explicit right hand version, just said to reverse so I thought, "ok, no big deal. get the backwards brain out." I inc at the same rate, simply because I didn't want to have the size diff to be obvious.

I still managed to create a 2nd left hand glove (as far as how the thumb sits).  I've already CO the fingers and I think I'm just going to finish it as a right handed glove with a funky thumb- I'm too far along to frog it and start over (that and lazy).

I think I officially hate this pattern for a PAIR as a beginner on gloves. This pattern has a love hate relationship with me. I love how easy it is, but hate how easy it is to screw up as well. Bah!

Did you check this thread for help?  I thought the diagrams someone posted was very helpful. Smiley

Went through the whole thread again and found snaggletooth's diagram- which didn't recall seeing the first time I read through this at work (my work servers and ad blockers like to filter out pretty much any image not directly associated with the site I'm visiting).

When I reversed the thumb stitches, it appears I should have knitted it inside out for it to work (how I did it) since I didn't quite comprehend the switching the stitch order but reversed the placement (duh!).

Lesson learned- I still hate that pattern as a first time glove pattern.
