I used bottle caps from some Hard Cider, so the bottoms of the "tins" have apples. Cheesy

Very cute! To get the beads to stick together did you just mix them with some glue? I'd love to make some of these, yes another use for all my bottle caps!

I took a wad of tin foil and placed it in the bottle cap to give it some height without wasting clay.
Covered the tin foil with a small amount of translucent clay - just where the beads would be exposed thru the crust.
Pressed the beads into the translucent clay, then covered the top with the fimo "crust".
Popped 'em in the oven, easy peasy, puddin' and pie. Cheesy

I sent one of them out in a swap with a magnet on the back. The others I may use on a place card holder for the Thanksgiving table or maybe in my next shrine. Cheesy

I was just going to ask you about those in the swap gallery!  They're so cute.  I had wondered if you used the Fashion Beadz that come in their own glue, but I guess you didn't.  Smiley  Beads make good berries.  Mmmmmm, beads.  Great use for a bottlecap--they are exactly the shape of a pie tin, after all!

Thanks for the nice words! Cheesy

The hole in the bead makes it look a bit more natural, like where the stem would have been. I used a needle to vary the position of the beads. I was thinking of using a brownish-orange fimo for a pumpkin pie during the next batch of "baking".

Those are really cute!!   Miniatures just look so awesome when they're convincing   Smiley

And mjadams, if your polymer items are burning, the heat is too high.

That can be because your oven bakes hotter than it says on the dial (absolutely need a cheapie oven thermometer any time clay is baked), or because it's in a hot spot in your oven, or because the item is really small and can more easily get overheated (bake a shorter time, but still at the right temp), or because you have the item too close to the bottom or top coils or sitting directly on metal or a tile which can heat hotter than the air temp--- lift the item on a tissue or some sheets of paper), or maybe because you're using a clay which darkens really easily (Sculpey, SuperSculpey, or Sculpey III).
If you want to read about lots of ways to keep your clay from darkening, check out this page at my site:
http://www.glassattic.com/polymer/baking.htm
(...click on "Darkening, Scorching and Burning" at least)

Far Out!  Your pies are the tops!  Thank you so much for sharing the details of your work.  It's endlessly fascinating to read about how talented artists, such as yourself, create such delectable treasures!  I'm curious if you have a preference for using Fimo, over Sculpey or Primo?
