Cute hat! I love the shape and color.
Also, are those cupcake royale cupcakes? I swear I recognize them.

Yes, in fact they are from Cupcake Royale. Smiley And they were very very tasty!

I'll do it now in a minute.

This is gorgeous!  I've just knitted up the main portion for my friend who had her baby on Monday and is due home from the hospital today.

Once I get the flowers done and on, I'll try to remember to take a photo Smiley

This is so cute!  When I graduate to knitting hats, this will be at the top of my list!

Ooh, Jane! I am excited to see photos of your version.

ssummerer, this is a good hat to start hats with... the very first hat I ever knitted was a similar top-down pattern. And the needles aren't too tiny so it's a little easier to deal with, I think. Smiley

I'll do it now in a minute.

Here you go! Flat:

And stuffed with a plastic carrier bag (hopefully the baby's head will be a bit better shaped than this Tongue):

The yarn is a Sirdar cotton/acrylic blend which is a bit thinner your suggestion but it's so soft and has worked out fine, plus I figure at this time of year she wont need something too cozy anyway.  I worked this flat as DPNs are the very devil and my 5mm circs were otherwise employed in my Tubey (which I had to rip out last night, RIP Sad).  I also only did three flowers and placed them on the left front of the hat as this is for a wee one and I didn't want anything added to the back of her head lest she be uncomfy Smiley

Thank you for such a super pattern, it was quick and easy but I'm sure Mummy will be very pleased with it!

Jane Cheesy

ETA: That second picture is awful!  I swear my knitting is a lot more even than it looks there.  Photography is NOT my strong suit Sad

Oh, that is so cute! I like what you did with the flowers, too!

Can I show it as an example on my blog?
