I picked up knitting for my 30th birthday (which was last week) and after some practice, I proceeded to my first project in 20 years or so.. a panta! I think it turned out quite well, it's very soft (100% merino wool) and stretchy, and it covers my head and ears nicely. I messed up a couple of stitches (knit instead of purl) but all in all I'm satisfied! I took several pics with my cell phones, here they are  Grin
No need to say.. I'm totally hooked on knitting now  Wink

*edit*
here is the pic of my second knitting project.. guess what, another panta!
This time I made it in cotton yarn, not as wide as the woolen one, and I made my first attempt at braids cables (sorry.. hehe.. in italian they are called "braids"!!) They were really easy and fun!
Here's the picture:

I bought this yarn because it was so soft.. I didn't really know what I was going to make  Wink
Next time I might try variegated yarn!

The pantas (pantii?) look fantastic, Mata.  You're getting good at this!

A beginner doing cables? Has it ever been done before?
Congrats on getting hooked.

They are lovely - I really like the pink one...

I have made several Panta's (four to be exact - the first one was intended for me, but I looked awful in it (didn't suit my face shape or hairstyle at all), so I gave it to my eldest daughter....  then I had demands from the other 3 so I ended up knitting them one each...
