Hey guys! I just received Leah's book! You have to go out and buy it. It is seriously awesome, and not just b/c I <3 Craftster and Leah.  It definitely won't just be sitting on my bookshelf!

I'm actually considering making the doll cake for my best friends birthday on Saturday!

Thanks Leah, for writing such a rad book, and of course, for all that you do here on craftster!

AhhhHHHhh!  Just when my boyfriend thought the excitement induced from receiving a swap package couldn't get much crazier; my Craftster book arrived!  Grin

From a book-standpoint, it's fan-tab-ulous (yes, I make up words as I go along).  It's compact enough to slip in my laptop bag & tote along with me for those "I need a crafty fix - moments."  From a Craftster-standpoint it's big enough to be packed full of creative genius; projects, pictures, details, inspiration... ahh!!  Shocked

I have no idea how you ever picked which projects to include, because each one brings to mind so many projects from the 50's & 60's and the spin we can put on them today.

Drum roll please...
My one phrase to describe it (and you can quote me in your publications if you'd like & I'm also available for signings, photo shoots, etc... Grin)  "This book is candy for the Craftsters soul!"

Thanks Leah!  I'm sure many, many people will enjoy it.  Thanks for Craftster and thanks for taking the time & effort into compiling such a fun book for us to enjoy as well.

*many hugs*

Yes, I completely agree!! BUY THIS BOOK!!!
I got mine yesterday, finally, and I am SO EXCITED! I can't wait until I have some extra money so I can go get some supplies and start crafting away!

Jean I couldn't have said it any better, this book is really "CANDY FOR THE CRAFTSTERS SOUL!" So many cool projects, really easy to follow instructions, colorful pictures, it's so great.
It's like all the great things you love about Craftster rolled up into a neat little book! Cheesy

I bought this book on a whim ("Whoa, that's my Craftster!  Must show Leah the love and buy this book.  Now!") and it's awesome!  Even my sixty-five year old father is getting a huge kick out of it.  And, my God, those Merry Monsters ...  I had one of 'em as a kid and it scared the piss out of me, too!

Looking forward to a sequel,
Carrie

My husband and I crawled through the book ooh-ing and aah-ing for an entire evening.
I will admit that there are some projects I just couldnt make myself do (toilet paper cozie anyone???) but are great inspiration for a spinoff (think crochetted poodle SCARF). Maybe its because I had a friend growing up whose mom made doll toilet paper cozies. Like, with an evil plastic doll head with deminted eyes that watched you pee. Much like the baby face magnets *shudders*.

Then there are the great craft ideas like the popsicle purse and the doll cake that leaves sooooo much room for creative expression. That and it is a great excuse to walk down the kindergarten craft eisle at the local craft-mega-mart and stock up on fun foam and glitter.

I just received my copy today, and I love it! I've actually seen those crazy doll face magnets and knit toilet paper cozies at my great aunt's house! I can't wait to make some record cover notebooks! Or perhaps a loincloth  Wink

Is the book suitable for little people?

Do you think the projects are too hard or is there any *naughty* language!?
I just want to make sure...

Whit, I dont know if you can buy them at book signings but my guess would be yes. Because at most signings they sell the thing they're signing in case you don't already have it... don't hold me to that though Wink

And yes, there are crafts suitable for children! You will probably have to assist them with it, but there are definitely cool little things they can do in there and I didn't see any bad language. But then again, ive never seen leah curse at all Smiley
