alright.. i need some jewelry bad.
i seem to be in love with this beaded hemp bracelet that my friend gave me a few years ago. i wear it all the time. and i seem to have some radical beads lying around sooo....

i want to make some beaded hemp bracelets of my own. now before i go and buy one of those uber expensive how-to-braid-hemp books... im gonna ask if anyone knows like a website or anything that can help me out with some simple ways to braid hemp. any how to braid site would work. thankss Grin

just to let you know, you posted this in the completed section instead of the future project section and if you just google a bit on hemp braiding, I'm sure you'll find a ton of sites... that or go to the library and borrow books on hemp braiding/friendship bracelet braiding

Yep.  Try looking for sites/books with macrame instructions.  Once you get the basic knots down, it's pretty easy to make all kinds of patterns.

If you don't luck out with websites.  Instead of buying a big expensive book to get you started, I know walmart sells little hemp kits.  They only show you how to make one type of necklace per a kit, but it might be a great way to get started.

This site is awesome for learning how to make hemp jewelry!!

Hippie Crap.com also carries beads and hemp if you're looking for an online supplier...and they also have beautiful hemp jewelry for inspiration!

Hello,
For those of you who asked what is Macrame... macrame is the art of decorative knotting. Macrame is the knots they use in the modern hemp bracelets. So if you can find a book or a site about macrame, it can definately help you out when making bracelets.

Why don't you go to the library and look up "macrame"? Here is some instructions on knotting.
