First I used either this tute or one very like it (sorry--I'll check whose when I get home): http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=22875.0 to make a lined pouch:

With a zipper!

And stripes!

(I swear I don't have man-arms.  Stupid camera.)

The pink velvet isn't the sturdiest fabric ever, so I had to do a bit of fixing--that's what the green at the bottom is.

Then I made a Smurfy little pouch, unlined:

I want to put straps on this, or something, but I haven't quite decided what yet.
Also, you'll notice the unevenness of my sewn lines.  I need a lot more practice.  Or a class.  Anyone taken the classes at a Joanns?
