Short Prom Hairdos?

So prom is coming up (next week actually, eek!) and i still have NO idea what to do regarding my hair. I like having my hair short but there are no cute updos! In the past i would just curl my hair and leave it down, but i really want to wear it up for prom. Hair's never been my thing, so I'm probably going to get it styled somewhere unless my friend does it for me.

I'm wearing a halter dress, if that affects anything.

i cant think of any now but if ya wear a halter you should have your hair up instead of down..i read it in a book they have alot of different stuff for your hair

you could use those little butterfly clips and make little twists up the top of your head and leave the back down...

or, it looks like your hair is long enough so that if you curl it and strategically place bobby pins you could have a really cute updo.  try this:  divide your hair into two sections once it's curled as if you were going to put it into pigtails.  twist each of them up and place bobby pins (you'll probably have to use a lot, but you can either try to hide them or get some cute colored/jeweled ones) all the way up the twist so that it holds.  There should be some hair hanging out the top and back over the twisties.  hairspray the heck out of the bobby-pinned part, and, voila!  gorgeous prom hair.

a girl at my school with hair a bit shorter than yours had kind of a half-back up-do...hard to explain. are you doing it yourself, or hairdresser?
i really have no good suggestions. maybe consult a hairdresser for ideas?

My hair was about your length when I had my senior prom.  What I did was just go to a hair dresser and showed her a picture of me in my dress and just told her that I wanted it up.  My hair came out really nice, so you could just do that.
