I just did this last night...I have been looking forever for some nurse fabric to make my mom a stethoscope cover and couldn't find anything that I liked.  So I was looking for a free nurse embroidery pattern and found one that was for machine embroidery that was a kind of stick figure...so I drew it out and then asked my five year old to draw the figure like I did...and she did a great job!  The design was very easy to do-and since it is supposed to look like a kid's drawing my beginner skills are adequate. I used transfer paper to copy the design...the purple is darker in person...and my scanner is kind of crappy!

my mom and I also live far away from each other...so this is a way for her to have my daughter close especially when she is working...and get a warm fuzzy feeling when she looks at it...it was super easy!!

That is very cute and I KNOW she will love it!  When my father was in the hospital, I noticed when the doctors and nurses were wearing little personalized things like that.  I know it sounds sappy, but I found it oddly comforting.  It made the whole atmosphere of the hospital a little less intimidating (I really, really, really don't like hospitals) and it made everything feel just so much more personal and personable.

I love how you had your daughter draw it before you stitched it up. It's adorable!
