I guess I need to take you to task on the "entirely too much fun playing a word game" thing.  My brother and I have been known to end our modified Scrabble games with aching abs from laughing so hard.

OK, but I bet you never have that same expression on your face! (If you do, I don't want to know!  Smiley)

I've said it before, but I'll say it again -- amazing job, Rackycoo! Thanks sooo much for the overview --- looking forward to an in-depth tutorial when you make your next creation, but this is great information on how to make one for myself!

And I couldn't pound the This Rocks button hard enough or fast enough when I saw this post. This does, indeed, totally rock. And so do you!!

Godo point.  Funny story:  after I read your comment, I quite nearly clicked back to page 1, so I could see the photos.  Then it occurred to me I could simply go fetch it from the kitchen.  She's staring back at me right now.  It could be the photo quality, but I really think she's wearing dentures.

One of the things I think is so brilliant about the design is that it's much more than "a box with a handle that I cleverly use as a purse."  You did such a great job of truly making the box into a purse.  And you could have embellished the daylights out of it--and it could have been really cute that way, but it easily could have been overdone.  I love how it is a Scrabble box and it is a purse.

And I think you should look for a Yahtzee game box.  Good size, and it has dice.  Smiley

stifflersmom has her eye on a Rocky and Bullwinkle game box. How fun is that? She's going to send it to me, and we'll see if it works.  Smiley

How fun?  Very fun!  And more proof that she's the thrifting queen.  How great would it be if there's a little Boris Badanoff game piece that you could use as a closure?

No game pieces, unfortunately, but there are scads of puppets and other paper goodies.
Here's a pic of the fantastic-gonna-be-a-purse-one-day box:

Isn't it awesome? I'll have to go find some lining fabric to send along with the box.
