Hi, I thought I'd share one on my embroidery designs.  You can use the pattern for free, off course, but please post your finished piece.  I'm dying to see what you do with my image!!!

Sorry it is kind of crude, I don't know how to clean it up on Adobe Illustrater.  Can anyone help me with this!

What are you trying to clean up about it? It looks pretty good to me.

Thanks for saying that.  If you look at it closely though you'll see the flaws.  Crooked lines, circles not so circular.  Stuff like that.
I wanted to design something that would look cool, but be very easy.  You could basically do the whole image in the stem stitch.  I really interested to see if anyone takes it even further.

I know that feeling, but no one but you will look that closely. I promise. It does look very cool and almost makes me want to take up embroidery.

My mom is a phenomenal cross-stitcher and she tried to teach me that, along with basic embroidery but it just never kept my attention. I've thought about taking it back up, but I already have too many hobbies to do much with. Although, maybe this summer when I'm taking less classes...It is extremely portable...What do you recommend for good books to work from, and beginner tools?

The Bon, I would recommend going to the sublime stitching website and getting her Stitch It Kit.  It comes with everything you need to start stitching some tea towels and it has THE BEST directions I've ever seen on how to make the stitches. Try curling up in front of the tv while you stitch, it's a great way to multi task and relax.

Bad bird, I'm loving the mermaid and am definitely gonna have to stitch her soon.  I'm totally obsessed with mermaids and fish life for my bathroom at the mo, as I get a few gifts done I want to start on yours.
