I made a quilt out of old jeans, and I had a buttload of pockets left over, so this is what I made, I was amazed at how much crap it holds. I use it for sewing notions, I'm working on another one for the kitchen pantry to hold like sauce packets, koolaid packets, gravy packets etc.

its hideously ugly but very servicable.

i don't think it's bad aesthetically.  reminds me of stuff my mom had in the 70s.  i've been thinking about doing a smaller version of something like this to put my cell phone, ipod, and camera in while they're charging.  how do you have it hanging on the wall?

WHen i hear wall pockets i instantly pictured back pockets cut off from jeans, and stiffened, mounted onto little wooden plaques.  You coult put little flowers or something in them. Hmmmm.....next crafty endeavor.

when I still had my bunk bed (r.i.p.) I did something similar. I completely cut out the pocket and decorated it with fabric markers and a Beadazzler and used pushpins on the inside to stick it to the wall. It was a great place to keep my stereo remote, pens, crochet hooks, ect.

hehe 'buttload of pockets' great unintentional pun.

I agree about the looking like something in those craft books from the 70's. My Mum had a ton of books like that and they continuously made things out of jeans.

I was out of long dowels, so I used a bamboo tomato stake, I can get about 20 bamboo stakes for a dollar at the garden center, they are around the same size as a dowel but prettier.

I'm always loosing my ink pens so I love making little pen holders for the fridge with pockets from old jeans. Just glue magnets to the back and spice it up with some ribbons, fabric glue or rhinestones and there you go. Smiley

I like that.
It would be cool to do on on the batroom closet door to organise everyones brushes, combs & stuff. A pocket or two for each family member.

I use those cheap dollar store kids shoe organisers (that are basicly the same style, although I like the look of your better.) all over the house. In my office to oragnise pens, pencils, & note pads.  In the closet wher ei keep gift wrap & stuff for bows, ribbon, tape, ...etc

They never have those at my dollar store, thanks for the idea though for the bathroom. I still have alot of pockets I like the idea for my teens bathroom, they share a boy and girl can we say living hell. This way all they have to do is stick it in a pocket.
