Ok, here's my finished Elizabethtown hat, along with pictures from the movie for comparsion:

I'm not 100% happy with it... the shape, I think, is not quite right, but it looks nice. Also, I think this style is better for girls with bangs.

Hey cnp71201...I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you.  I think you did a fantastic job!!!  Your version of the hat looks way better than mine.  It's really close the the one she wears on the movie.  So i think you should be 100% happy with what you did 

I'm thinking of giving it another try now that I've seen yours.

oooh i'm loving all the versions of these hats!  i just had to get in on this and start the spiderman version.  i'm using koigu kppm because its a little stretchy.  i started it a few days ago and i'm loving how it looks!  i'm having a little trouble because my needles are too blunt...but i'm going to try and use a pencil sharpener on them to see if i can sharpen those points a little LOL.  i'm weird, i know.....

ugh...well i tried to take some progress pics to show everyone, but my camera batteries are dead haha   oh well...i'll post some later on

Thanks, caramelo! I am glad to hear that... and I do plan to wear it. It is a great hat. Now just gotta finish my Spiderman 2 hat in the SWS, it is looking so nice in this yarn!

Your version of the Etown hat looks great cnp71201, you'll have to share your notes with us. Did you just follow the pattern or improvise a bit? You actually look a bit like kirsten in it. I think the only thing that makes yours look a little different in shape is that the one kirsten has on is a little longer which gives it a baggy-er fit around the top. But it's very very close and looks great. Well done! I'll get around to this one eventually but I love my spiderman2 hat and wear it all the time

If I remember correctly, I had to do the yarn overs differently for each row. For Row 1,  I would drape the yarn over the needle one way, then on Row 2 it would be the other way. If I didn't do that it wouldn't work right.

Also, being able to knit continental style helped this pattern move swiftly.

I used Daisy circular needles and I loved them! Because of the way the cord sits, it was very easy to knit throught the back loop.

haha so i've just realized (perhaps because of the enlarged photo of the spiderman version) that my hat is in almost the SAME EXACT colorway.  i had no intention of this when i started it...i just loved the colors!  its funny how the subliminal mind works.....the yellow bits you see in my photo are actually a bit more on the brownish/goldish side...
