This is what I have so far...

Cherith, practice does make perfect, but I know I hate putting that much work into something and having it not be perfect.  Sad

Looks good leppardess!

(I know I keep saying this), but I hope to get pics up this afternoon.  I've decided to do the easy bits first (since I have two sets of dpns).  I'm almost finished with the ribbing, then I'm going to start the cursing bits (the heel).

Here are some progress pics!  I'm doing them both at the same time since I have two sets of dpns.

I'm a coward, so I'm doing the easy bits first.  Roll Eyes  Hopefully I'll get to the heel of both at the same time.

Okay, so I've lurking around on this knitalong, with special interest because I think rachelo and I started our first socks around the same time...

After weeks of knitting on the train to and from work each day, these things are finally done! I had to totally frog and redo one because I misread the heel directions, but here they are! Finished tonight...I am on such a high right now!

Pattern: Sock Recipe in Yarn Harlot's "Knitting Rules"
Yarn: Lang Yarns "Jawoll Color Jacquard" Color #157

Ballerina view I couldn't resist:

Thanks for writing about your progress to help get me through these!

farrah, your socks are great! I love the "ballerina view".

I finished my first sock about a week ago, but I'm stuck on the ribbing for the second one. I've been hit by Second Sock Syndrome!  Cheesy

farrah, they look SO great!  I hope you're wearing them a lot!

g.23paxilon, it looks good!  You can do another!

I made the heel last night.  In fact, I did both heels last night.  I've got a date with the gussets tonight.  Cheesy  I really want them done by the end of the weekend!

Just wanted to keep y'all updated -- I've completed heels on both socks, and I hope to knit the nine inch foot part (the boy has some long feet) before the Super Bowl.  I'll try to get progress pics up soon (or even better -- the completed sockS).

How is the second one coming, g.23paxilon?  Have you gotten past the ribbing yet?

No, I haven't... I'm also knitting a Harry Potter scarf and that's taking up most of my time. I wish that I had knit both socks at the same time, but I've only got one set of 2s.

Believe it or not, but I was silly enough to go to the store and get a second pair of dpns.  I know how I am!  Wink

g23paxilon- your sock looks great- I really like the spirals.

rachelo- good idea planning for super bowl knitting. I like watching the game, but I will definitely be knitting at the same time...

I actually haven't worn my socks yet, because I live in Miami and it's 85 degrees outside, but it doesn't even matter. I just like looking at them...

Good luck, everyone!
