get thee onto mendel's mailing list!! twice a year (i think it's february & september), they offer 25% off everything in the store ... whether or not it's on their web site. you don't need to shop in person, they'll happily ship their merchandise. if you want something and it's not on their site, just write and ask if they have it.

actually doing mail order with them is easier, cuz unless you live in the haight, you may have trouble finding a parking place anywhere nearby!

PrairiePrimitives is my eBay ID. I tried to put a link here, but it didn't work. Sad

Off on the 71 I go!

hope ya found lots and lots of goodies at mendel's!! i've only been in there once when i was hanging out in SF with friends. tried to find a parking place there a couple years ago, but it was ridiculous ... and if they still have their buttons in the little drawers, don't ever, ever, EVER try to look at the buttons without help!!! i got yelled at for doing that. they must have a bad problem with shoplifters or something (which would make ya wonder why they don't keep the buttons behind the counter or something ...)

another great SF resource (if i haven't already mentioned it) is SF herbs www.sfherb.com ... they have wonderful botanical stuff for potpourri or other crafting purposes. they're on 14th street.

I've gotta add Satin Moon on Clement and Arguello to the list of fabric stores.  My personal favourite.  Not large, but fabric to die for!
