I used an old t-shirt for the waistband with enough length to fold over

yoke (middle part) measured as two trapezoids: Top = narrow-est part of my hips I wanted it to sit at divided by 2 +.5", Bottom =around wide-est part of hips I wanted it to sit at divided by 2 +.5", connected with 6" sides, or the length between the two measures going down your leg.

long strip of pleating 2 x full wide measure, trimmed once sewn on to the two middle piece trapezoids.

I did wide pleating like you too, 3" squares with 1" folds.
