flourescent pink argyle pattern cable knit sweater!!! FINALLY FINISHED!

finally...
its been a brain bender but I'm finished

this was modified from a pattern in the march '06 issue of creative knitting magazine.
I used Caron simply soft brites (6oz).
The colour was awesome (watermelon)
but I think if I ever decide to do this pattern again, I'll steer very clear of acrylic yarns...this kind of work deserves to be blocked properly!




my mom helped out too...she made me these buttons out of translucent and hot pink sculpey

Love it. I saw a similar sweater on a woman at a hockey game recently and immediately thought "WANT!". Now I just have to learn to cable  .

The crazy thing is, I was looking at that pattern (sadly, it was the only one that I liked), and I wanted to try it out in caron simply soft. My first actual finished project was branching out, in simply soft (frosted raspberry or something like that).
How many skeins did you use?

I <3 the watermelon!!! my LYS doesn't have the bright colors though.

the funny thing is I don't remember how many I bought in the first place...all I know is I have 1.5 skeins left....I believe this sweater takes 4.5-5 skeins with that yarn .

i don't normally recommend going to wal-mart for yarn....but thats where I bought it...for $2.47 a piece...I couldn't resist it was a steal.
