Hello All,

I'm going to Cannes in less than a week.  Aside from non-stop cinema madness, I thought I might check out some local crafts/art/flea markets.  Any suggestions?

Sarah

I went to Nice and Cannes two years ago! I didn't really like it that much :/ I only went to both for a day. If you're going to check out some villages around there, you should go to Antibes. There's a street with a few little shops of handmade stuff and artists, but I don't know the name of the street anymore.

Anyway, have a good time!!

Just got back.  The extent of my crafty ventures was going to the Cannes flea market.  (And wearing a $10 modified goodwill dress on the red carpet!)  At any rate Cannes and surrounding area was lovely- very posh though.  For those interested in local travel-- take the buz azur- travel about locally for only 1,30 per ride.  Grab food at local markets, boulangerie and the ubiquitous Monoprix and Casino chains and it won't kill you financially.  Grasse has a neat artists' square- complete w/local headquarters for the communist party.

I live in Nice - I think you have to stay for more than a day to get to know the place!
