This whole discussion on Kinder Eggs (or Kinder Surprises as they are called in my part of the world) has me surprised.  I received one in a swap from England and figured that if they were here in Canada and in England, then they had to be everywhere but it seems like the US doesn't have them.  Hmmm.....interesting!

I received some KinderEggs in a sweet treats swap and am now thoroughly obsessed with them!  Someone said that parts of the U.S. sell them, but I guess in general they aren't allowed to be sold because they are viewed as "dangerous".  (i.e. some kid might eat the toy inside too.)  Personally, I think it's a fabulous idea!  And I would LOVE to swap for some too!  Cheesy

The forest of talking trees,
They used to sing about the birds and the bees.
The bees had declared a war,
The sky wasn't big enough for them all.

I don't think you can get Smarties in the US either, can you? At least, when I lived in the pacific northwest, I spent an hour in the grocery store once looking for Smarties (great for decorating iced cakes) before a clerk showed me what she called "smarties".... they were nothing like the Nestl Smarties.   Tongue  So I often stick them in swap parcels, hoping they are unique!

They are very hard to find, but sometimes they have Nestle Smarties in the "British" section of grocery stores.  I personally am still mourning the loss of the Cadbury Wispa which is no longer produced.   Cry
