Sweet Merciful Zeus! Everyone has to see what MyRedUmbrella has sent me.

Wowzer. Before I show everyone my parcel, I want to take this opportunity to say... My souvenirs suck. I'm sorry. I had half an hour after Uni to go looking for something, and the only places that were open were the horrid 'Australiana' shops on Swanston St. My partners may also realise quickly, when they receive their CDs, that I don't have a printer. You'll understand when you see the playlist.  Wink

But oh... cast your eyes across this:

Isn't it pretty? And on the reverse...

She's sent me some songs I've wanted for a while - such as Sigur Ros, a track from Air which I don't have, Ca Plane Pour Moi, which I love and don't have, and a Bjork that I never knew existed. I'm so very pleased, and so very many thanks to her!

You are very welcome!  I had a difficult time finding anything remotely awesome from where I live.  The pin is all I found that represents CT.  I am so happy that it got to you so quickly!

Don't forget to PM me or post when you're gotten your packages, so I can enter it into the list!

I just got my package from albarinos. I don't have a camera so hopefully she can post some pictures, but if not I'll borrow one eventually. I haven't listened to the cd yet. She made me a cute tiny little calendar that folds up and on the backs of each month is a picture of some scenic tourist-y places. It is going to live in my purse.

Hey di ho.. here's the list o' songs I got from MyRedUmbrella:

Bonnie & Clyde - Serge Gainsbourg & Brigitte Bardot
Ta3Alah - Diana Haddad
Hachi - The Lapse
In A Glade - Milla
Vonal Declosion - Stereolab
Zurawie (Cranes) - Warsaw Village Band
a Plane Pour Moi - Plastic Bertrand
Say Na Say Na - Arash
Life On Mars? - Seu Jorge
Brnin Vi Tjrnina - Trio Gudmundar Ingolfssonar
Sita Ram - Krishna Das
Quand Je L'ai Vu - Valrie Lemercier
El Andariego - Chavela Vargas
Jeanne - Air
Virar Vel Til Loftrasa - Sigur Rs

As she's probably already gathered, I adore Serge Gainsbourg, and encourage everyone here to explore all his works. I am sickeningly and shamefully excited by having a copy of a Plane Pour Moi... I've listened to it about 7 or 8 times already, and am planning to memorise the lyrics. I can't believe I've never heard of Seu Jorge, and I hope to hear more. If my sister's Portuguese skills are up to scratch, I'll get her to translate it for me. Brnin Vi Tjrnina is sung by Bjrk, and sounds really familiar to me, but I can't place where. All my hip and cool friends listen to Sigur Rs, and now I get to experience it too. Thanks so much dear swap partner!!!
