Is the inside bottom tissue paper over the main paper?  It's so striking!

Here's the needle pillow that flyleaf sent me. I don't have to use my couch anymore! 

Very cute needle pillow, flyleaf.  Did you tie the frog yourself?

I didn't. I was going to, but I couldn't find any ribbon that would work. I did knit the red part though!

I didn't realize the pillow was knitted -- it looked like a crushed velvet to me.  All in all, it's beautiful! 

Where did you learn how to tie frogs?  I've tried a few online tutorials and haven't had any luck.

Actually, I didn't know. If I did get ribbon, I was going to learn it, but I'm glad I didn't find any, because that would be frustrating!

Thanks!  It's actually just a decorative paper that I got at the art supply store along with the octopi.  It's marbled with gold shimmery stuff...when I saw it I knew I had to have it.  Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of the box before I sent, but I could take a picture of the paper I have left.  It's much more brilliant than you can tell from the pic above.

Also, I usually put a little ribbon loop/tab on the lid for opening ease, but I was so excited about making the box that I forgot.  Which I did AGAIN tonight with another box I'm making.   I just get way too excited about the finished product and end up skipping steps.  Heh...oh well.

also, i stil haven't had a chance to get a pic of my OTT from lady4feet...i'm sorry!!  my camera is mia, i'll have to see if my roomie can get one tonight for me.

Octopi!?!  Well, I'll be darned!  Those are octopi!  I didn't look close enough and thought it was just a pretty swirly design.  Wheee!  Cephlapods just make that box that much more special.     Well done!

Well Count Mingo has become the hit of my neighbor hood!
My daughter came home this after noon with 4 of her friends to show them "mom's funny flamingo"
They all loved it!
So he is now displayed on my bakers rack in my dining room. The bakers rack is where everything goes that is off limits to my 2 kids (age 8 and 5) so that nothing gets stuck in a backpack and hauled off to school or played with and broken.
My husband said that with all of the things he has seen on e-bay and what people are willing to pay for these items that you could start a whole line of Monster Mingos and corner the marker lol
I promised him I would try to make a Mummy Mingo for him

I'm so glad...I honestly thought, wow everyone sent something you could use, I sent something ...uh...less than normal. I wonder...mummy Mingo....hmmmm I have some more clay...lol of course he'd need a sarcophagus...and HOW would you make the face on that???
