i used spray adhesive on the backs of each piece, then washed after i got it all together.

simple zig-zag stitch around all the edges.

someone said it must have taken forever...i'm a single unemployed mom...so it only took about three days...

annyone need a good employee??? Wink

I'm like you.  Once I get started on a project, It gets done pretty quick.  Quilts are great because you get a really big product and the sewing isn't that big a deal if you choose a good pattern without lots of precise angles.

The quilting part is what I hate though.  I have some really nice tops that have never been quilted.

When you say "spray adhesive,"  is that quilters basting spray?

Thank you for answering my questions.  I love the look of applique, but I am always looking for easier techniques.

Here is one more question:  Does that spray adhesive wash out or is it a premanent adhesion?

I've gotta post my son's quilt which was made with all batiks.  It took forever because each block was foundation pieced on muslin.

it seems to wash out. i always do a quick gentle wash of my quilts before use, and though i've never taken any apart to be sure Wink they all seem to come out with out any of the original smell!  i've always found with basting spray that the hold isn't strong enough for my purposes (i don't use pins...long story, but i hate them!!) so i need my pieces to stay put through the machine.  i also don't use any backing fabric (is that what it's called?).

i also need to share this...

 I SOLD IT!!!!! Grin

it was my very first sale, and i'm so excited...something i made living somewhere in the world where no one knows me other than by my work...it's a good feeling!

I hate pins too which is why I only like to sew things that lay flat.

Congrats on your sale!  What a thrill!
