hi there! here's my take on the beach bag challenge...

i call this my "juicy fruit" beach bag

i made it out of: a recycled vinyl tablecloth, cotton, interfacing, thread, & a vintage button

the dimensions are: 17"w at top / 12"w at base / 12"h / 5"d / straps have a 10" drop

This beach bag was an Easter present for my sister who lives in FL.  She refuses to take it to the beach b/c she doesn't want to get it dirty.  Instead she uses it as a project bag to carry her knitting/crocheting/needlepoint projects around.  I posted it before but wanted to enter it in the challenge.

Bag Title:  Skirt Recon Beach Bag
Materials used:  Thrifted skirt, purchased fabric, fusible interfacing, magnetic snap, butterick pattern 3799, Scotchguard.

Here is mine:

Chita Tote Bag
Made with traditional brazillian fabric (cotton) with flowers appliques all over the bag. The lining is in the same fabric as the flowers outside, with inner pocket. Closes with a metal pressure button.

Materials.- Care Bear towel,CareBear fabric,interfacing,pink terrycloth and rope.

Bag Title: Capri Sun Cooler Bag
Materials used: Capri Sun Pouches, thread, velcro, wide webbing for strap
Bag measures approx. 14"L x 7 1/2"W x 16"H

I know capri sun / kool aid bags have been done to death, but this is my little twist on it, on a large scale. This bag is huge & waterproof, perfect for the beach.

Outside of bag with flap that closes with velcro


Inside of bag with divider that can be used to keep wet towels or suits separate from other beach items or folded back for 1 big space. I've even used it with 1 divided side to keep a few drinks cool with those soft freezer packs & snacks & sandwiches on the other side.

Materials used: black washed-denim, apple cotton (remnant of a curtain factory) and 4 large vintage white buttons
Measurements:
Width: 46 cm (18.5 inch)
Height: 42 cm (17 inch)
Depth: 11 cm  (4 inch)
Two straps: each 70 cm long (28 inch)

Bag Title: Gold and White Towel Beach Bag!
Materials used: Cotton Towel, clear vinyl, gold ribbon, thread, nylon webbing
Measurements:
16.5" x 18" with a 2.5" squaring off at the bottom. The straps are 25" long.

Bag Title: Under The Sea
Materials used: Cheap Fabrics from Walmarts $1-$3/yd fabrics, Variagated thread called "Fall Leaves" also from Wally World.  Also used the "Lazy Girl Designs Newport Tote" pattern.
Size: 17.5" wide x 13.5" tall x 7" deep
